Gratitude Countdown

3 -- Number of children under the age of

2 -- that will be living in

1 -- bedroom around here. As of May 15, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving!!

After finally getting all of our new insurance information I had my first prenatal check up on Monday of this week.

In order to make sure the estimated due date was correct, the Dr. did a sonogram to measure the baby's growth. Well, the minute she put the device on my belly it looked a little different.

GK immediately correctly identified two little heads but kept quiet. I thought it looked like two heads and thought, "Wow, that little thing is in a weird position!"

Well the Dr. was quiet as she clicked around and then said, "Well, it looks like you're measure at 15 weeks exactly." (A little behind where I thought I was) "And I have a bit of a surprise for you, there are actually two babies in there."

GK jumped out of his chair and screamed, "I knew it! I knew it! I've been saying that from the beginning!" The Dr. probably thought he was insane... he is.

He really has been talking to the babies from the beginning. He will often say, "Hi babies, how are you. It's daddy." And up until yesterday I would just smack him and tell him to knock it off.

GK is strutting around the house like a peacock and I'm finally understanding why I've been so worn out and why this morning sickness seems to be lingering a bit. I'm carrying an extra parasite.

We are totally thrilled! And alternately totally petrified. But as GK has said from the day we found out I was pregnant with Van, "We're getting a bit of a late start. Twins would help us catch up."

Here we come!

...so I guess Sheri called Karen...Karen called Ned....and Ned called me immediately at work, with some URGENT news (which NEVER happens with Ned)!!

So urgent news..."Guess's who's having twins?" Well I didnt guess....but was shocked, amazed, suprised, and thrilled for you. And can easily say better you than me, and I am hoping it runs on Susanna's side, becasue Ned's Granny (scott's side), and my mom both have twins that run in the family, and I am not as cool & chill as you both are...you will be GREAT parents and how fun for all 3 kiddies to have each other to play with. What a blessing.

CONGRATS!

I'm with Heidi. April and I used to always talk about twins. She would always say how great it would be to have twins; I'd always say I thought it was great too... for someone else! I don't think I'd handle it so well but you two will be fantastic!!!! The Risser plan to take over the world takes a fabulous leap forward. congrats, congrats, congrats!

Every person is only given what they can handle and right now I believe Keira and Matix are it. I feel so tapped out lately I could sceream at any moment, but I don't and just continue to bite my tongue.

I just cannot imagine this situation. I can't imagine the doctor telling me that EVER. I thought I remember GK saying something about twins in our Skype conversation. I am so excited for you guys. Can we have one?

Eddie,
That's because in reality Matix is a triplet that never divided. You actually have 4 kids. You just never knew it.

Susanna, Cherryl and I are sooo excited. Yes it will be a challange, but the best things in the end are always the harder things in the beginning.

Oh my gosh, so excited for YOU! Something I never ever ever desire. I can barely give one the attention. You will have so much fun. Did you see if they were boys or girls? Lets just say that in Late June I am banking on one not Two. Congrats, so fun.

Holy crap balls of fire! That is a combination of Kevin's and my reaction to this news. Wow, that is amazing! I can't believe GK called it. If only all of Kevin's premonitions came true - BYU would play for the national NCAA championship, the Jazz would make it to the playoffs and the food I cooked would taste good.
Good work, you two - it's takes serious talent to jump ahead on the kid count like this!

How thrilling! Yes, it will be a big job. My mother is a twin. Dare I say, my grandmother said, she didn't leave the house for two years after the birth of her twins. Please do not be worried by such a statement, but I can just imagine the busyness of it all. Best wishes! I'm all about it. Hope all continues to go well. I'm very excited for you.

I could not believe it when you called me the other day. I was nearly crying in the airport! I sure love you all and still miss you every day. Tell those babies that Auntie Sara will definitely be out there to see them this summer. ARE THEY IDENTICAL OR FRATERNAL???

Wow! Do twins run in your family? Congrats! This is so exciting. Are you going to find out the genders?

Valerie said...

I don't buy this for a minute. I'll believe it when I see it. You've got to get up pretty early in the morning to pull a fast one on this girl, got it Risser?
